The sad story of Kubura Bali and Kubrahsiri, passed down in Yonaguni

My name is Kishikoro and I live in Yonaguni.

Kubura Bali is the site of a tragic legend in Yonaguni.

Not many people may visit Yonaguni on their trip, but I think it's a truly wonderful place because it's so dynamic.

Be sure to visit on a nice day.

The Legend of Kubura Bali

Kubura Bali is a cleft in the rocks that is 3 to 5 meters wide.

In the past, Yonaguni Island suffered from a head tax (a tax levied per person), and to reduce the population, they apparently made pregnant women fly the Kubura Bali.

Most pregnant women died from falling, and even those who were lucky enough to fly suffered miscarriages.

It's so narrow that even an adult male would have to jump at super speed to get over it. It's also slippery on the rocks, so I definitely don't want to fall off.

Behind the Scenes of Kubura Bali Kubrahshiri

We live in an age where anything can be found on the internet, but the amazing scenery behind Kubra Bali is almost never seen lol

It's called Kubrahshiri, and it's a spot I highly recommend.

On a clear day, you can see a beautiful ocean, and when it's stormy, it's dangerous, but you can feel the earth. Never go near it when it's stormy. If you fall, you'll definitely die.

summary

There is also a parking lot at Kuburabali.

It's not a very popular place and it's not that famous, so not many people come.

You can also see boats coming from Ishigaki around 2pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

If you come to Kubra Bali, be sure to stop by Kubrahushiri.
