[Closed] Introducing Dannuhama, one of Japan's top public toilets

My name is Kishikoro and I live in Yonaguni.

This time, we will introduce Dannuhama, one of the most beautiful public toilets in Japan.

Dannu Beach is currently closed

As of January 2023, Dannu Beach is currently closed.

The building is in a bad state of deterioration and is likely to collapse. When you look closely, you can see that it has many cracks and is in danger.

Activities at Dannu Beach

Although Dannu Beach is narrow, the waves are often quite strong so swimming there is not recommended.

I've been there a few times when things were rough, but my impression was, "There's no way I'd even go in as a joke."

If you want to swim safely, we recommend Nanta Beach. Please note that Nanta Beach is not certified as a swimming spot by the town.

For more information about Nanta Beach, please refer to the following article.

Former Dannu Beach

Previously, you could enter the Dannuhama public toilet like this and take some cool photos. Now, even though it says "No Entry", there is only a light fence, so you can easily enter, but it is dangerous, so it is best to avoid it.

summary

It looks like the public toilets at Dannu Beach won't be reopening anytime soon.

However, the coral reefs at Dannu Beach are also quite beautiful, so it might be a good idea to take a quick look at them during your trip.
