My name is Kishikoro and I live on Yonaguni Island.
There are two beaches on Yonaguni Island, and this time we will introduce Nanta Beach. The other beach is called Nama Beach, and the names are very similar, so be careful.
Both are great beaches, so please use them as a reference. I live just a minute's walk from Nanta Beach, and I go there almost every sunny day.
It's such a beautiful beach, so if you come to Yonaguni Island, be sure to stop by, even if just for a moment.
If you see me please say hi
Introduction to Nanta Beach

Nanta Beach is a beach located in the village of Sonai on Yonaguni Island.
The town does not permit swimming so you swim at your own risk.
Please be careful because the currents are fast even if you go a little offshore. There are no rescue teams, so you will just be riding the Kuroshio Current.
parking
There is a parking lot for about 5 cars at the entrance to Nanta Beach.
I've only seen it filled up a few times in the summer, but it's generally empty so I think you'll be able to park.
Restroom
There are restrooms in front of the parking lot.
There is also a foot washing area so you can use it on your way home.
Activities you can experience

You can snorkel, but as I said before, be careful of the tides.
If the weather is fine, you can swim all year round.
In 2023, even in January, the temperature exceeded 25 degrees on sunny days, so you could easily swim.
Because the sun is hot, even at 25 degrees the sea is warmer, unlike in Honshu.
By the way, today we all went to the beach during our lunch break.

However, be careful of the sun. If you don't apply sunscreen, you will get sunburned to the point of burning.
The picture below is from when I swam at Nanta Beach for about 15 minutes without sunscreen. If you stay there for an hour or so you will get burned, so be careful.

You can also see hippocampus from April to October.

summary
Nanta Beach is one of the safer beaches on Yonaguni, but please be aware that it is not designated as a swimming spot by the town.

The colour of the sea changes considerably depending on the angle of the sun and the amount of clouds, so be sure to check it out.
