My name is Kishikoro and I live in Yonaguni.
This time, we will provide a thorough explanation of flights from Naha to Yonaguni.
In 2022, I will be flying from Naha to Yonaguni five times, and I will be explaining various points to be aware of, so please read to the end.
Only two flights operated by RAC from Naha

The only way to get from Naha to Yonaguni on a direct flight is to use RAC.
There are only two flights per day, and the 7am flight is so early that you will have to stay in Naha the night before, so if you are traveling from Tokyo or Osaka, it is best to schedule it to coincide with a midday flight.
There is a possibility of multiple flight cancellations due to typhoons and bad weather.

I took five flights from Naha to Yonaguni in 2022, but two were canceled.
There are only two flights a day from Naha, so if the flight on the day is canceled
- Go to Yonaguni via Ishigaki
- Change to an afternoon flight
- Looking back to the next day's flight
- Give a refund
There are four possible patterns:
If the 7:00 a.m. flight is canceled, most people who were supposed to take the morning flight will switch to the afternoon flight, so the afternoon flight will be very crowded. Therefore, as soon as you find out that the morning flight has been canceled, go to the JAL counter as soon as possible and have them process the change.
If you are late going to the counter, you will have to either take the next day's flight or go via Ishigaki to Yonaguni on the same day. If you go via Ishigaki, you will most likely end up arriving at Yonaguni at 6:20 p.m., so please be careful if you are planning to go to Yonaguni on a morning flight from Naha as your schedule may be significantly disrupted.
Be especially careful of typhoons and November to February

It's fine up to Ishigaki, but the area around Yonaguni Airport gets really rough in the winter.
During typhoon season, there were days when all flights were canceled for three consecutive days, and there were really no flights. Or, at worst, they were sent to Ishigaki.
Please plan your trip well in advance during this time. Also, if you are planning to dive, we recommend sending your diving equipment at least two weeks in advance. I once had a package sent from my parents' house take 20 days to arrive in Yonaguni.
In particular, if you are shipping by sea, it will take at least 10 days, so if you are traveling to Yonaguni, it would be a good idea to send your luggage with plenty of time to spare.
Flight prices from Naha to Yonaguni
Direct flights from Naha to Yonaguni are quite expensive, probably because RAC is the only airline that flies on this route. The regular adult fare is around 38,000 yen, and even round-trip discount fares are around 25,000 to 30,000 yen, so it will cost you more than 50,000 yen round-trip.
If you want to save a little money, you can keep the one-way fare from Naha to around 20,000 yen if you go via Ishigaki.
Flights from Haneda to Yonaguni
To get from Haneda to Yonaguni, you will have to go via Naha or Ishigaki.

By the way, in 2022, I was unable to board the train to Yonaguni from Ishigaki and was left behind three times.
Mysterious JAL lounge next to the bus lounge
There is a JAL lounge in the bus lounge at Naha Airport.
The name "JAL Sakura Lounge ANNEX" is quite confusing, and it's unclear whether it's even open.
The location is near gate 28, close to planes flying to Tarama, Yonaguni, etc. There are few seats near the bus lounge, so you will likely have to stand and wait, so if you can get into the JAL lounge, it is a good idea to kill time here.
summary
We introduced flight information from Naha to Yonaguni.
I'm thinking it might be a good idea to spend two nights in Naha and then take a morning flight to Yonaguni.
If you take the afternoon flight, you won't have much time and it would be difficult to make a day trip, so we recommend staying overnight!
Please enjoy your life in Yonaguni!
